Some think it's funny, some residents don't. I did a story on this, and this is what Abilene residents had to say. Abilenians Offended By Anti-Abilene Bumper Sticker

Some think it's a joke, other say maybe it's some one who just is miserable in Abilene.
These Are My Confessions.
Real question is, who would take the time and let's not forget the money to get this printed?
You tell me.
What exactly do you think about this sign, are people over reacting over a bumper sticker?

Would you like the city/police to do something about them, or do they not bother you?
P.S. Let's not forget it's against the law to post or do anything to traffic signs....
I think they're kind of funny. I want to meet the person who did it.
ReplyDeletePLEASE, someone tell me where I can get one?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, where do you get them? And if you can't find them, is it possible a news person put these up just to make a story?
ReplyDeleteA news person put them up to make a story? That's one of the most absurd things I've heard in a while.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I hear these stickers are generic and can be printed with any city... BUT who would take the time do actually do it about Abilene and go around town posting them?
ReplyDeleteSure we all have our "days" and rough moments, but someone must've been bored to do this.
I would love to find out who did this too, and see if he/she was bored, thought it was funny, or really means it.
P.S. A news person would never do this! First, it's illegal and second, it would be unethical to make a story happen!
ReplyDeleteThis story came about from a viewer who saw the stickers and sent us pictures of it (which you see above) and I went ahead and followed up with the city and with residents about it.
Well, as an Abilenian(the absolute adjective that it is) I am somewhat offended. From the Bumper stickers we can draw a couple of conclusions. One, we are raising some very intelligent and aware youth that they realize the importance of having dreams whether they materialize or not. Two, that this band of youths or just the one were at the time of this vandalism not partaking in premarital sex, hopefully not under the influence of anything more than badly made coffee drinks, overplayed predictable radio, and flavored cigarettes bought at the back door of a stapled pastime for our Under 18 crowd to feel like they got away with something. Let em be, they only want to be heard because they are getting listened to when it means the most.
